BJP objects Mersal, demands chopping out scenes!

Mersal sets stage for political party’s involvement in censor board activities. Bhartiya Janta party had objection on the content portrayed in this South Indian movie. Highlighting the issue of GST, digital India, health care scenario and comparing it with that of Singapore was not appreciated by the party in a sarcastic way. BJP proclaimed that the movie intended to hurt the sensibilities. Widespread controversy added feathers to Mersal’s success; beating the opening day collection of Rajnikant’s Kabali. The fact of the matter is, the government fails to prevent violence on film, for instance Padmavati controversy. It should not interfere in the broadcasted content of the movie. Films are a mirror to the society, government should embrace its piousness rather than oppressing their voice.
