Embrace the giver

“Communities and countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women”
-Michelle Obama
She loves you unconditionally without expecting anything in return, her love is pious. An indefectible wife, a caring daughter and a peerless homemaker, she never fails to do complete justice with her role.
A large segment of the society faces obstacles in terms of health facilities. There is a greater need to establish health services focusing specifically on women’s health especially in rural areas. Fear of social stigma acts as a contributor to seal their lips and they hesitate to reveal their problems.
Thus, they stop looking for the solution of their botheration. They accept their illness as a part of their fate, though they undergo extensive agony; they bear it with silence. It’s time that the society breaks these walls; acknowledge and lend an empathizing ear to the needy, to comfort and sustain their health.

With an admirable efforts and objective for societal transformation and welfare “Mahila Sarvangeen Utkarsh Mandal (MASUM)” is an NGO based in Pune. It prospects to strengthen women’s self-reliance and consciousness. Nurtures their physical and emotional health, creates a sustainable environment for their development as well as empowers them.
“To be able to understand their bodies is a part of their empowerment, if you don’t know your body, you don’t know who takes control over it. Autonomy cannot happen unless I know myself” said Dr. Manisha Gupte, founder of MASUM.

Their initiatives are focused for the underprivileged sections of the society and avail them with health care services for their upliftment. MASUM trains health workers, creates awareness about diseases such as reproductive tract infections, cervical cancer, uterine prolapse and other gynaecological problems. They provide villagers with the facility of VIA Test which is endorsed by WHO. This is beneficial for detection of cervical cancer at a very minimal cost.
MASUM motivates women to unleash their gynaecological problems and talk about it. It’s time that people come together and support such Non-government organizations working towards the welfare of the society.

“The more you help others, the more they will want to help you” – Brain Tracy.
Feminism begins when women start respecting their own body. Each drop counts, you can be her blessing in disguise. Lend a helping hand to embrace womanhood. #EmbraceTheGiver
